Amy Jean Ellis aka momma, sissy, Miss Amy, Amous and A.J. danced her way outta here October 15, 2017 at 12:17pm. Her soul is free of her well-worn body and wandering at the beach where she was happiest. The world has suffered a great loss but Andy gained a partner in crime in the afterlife. Together again, raising cain.
Amy was born in Portland, Oregon on February 15, 1964 to Melvin and LeeAnne Ellis. The family moved to Idaho in 1967 where she lived her life her way and to the fullest. Amy was a very independent, head strong and loving single mother to Anthony James and Leslie Dawn. Nothing compares to the love, support and devotion she showed as a mother.
An employee of Spokane Child Development Center for over 20 years she touched so many lives of children and parents alike. Miss Amy’s love was educating children and joy came from impacting lives of students who needed someone in their corner saying, in her very unique voice, “You can do this!”
Amy was a mother and friend to many and she loved her animals. She enjoyed camping, fishing, floating the river, ocean trips and Four Lokos. She loved to tell jokes and get a laugh and a smile. Her voice, face, laughter and sense of humor will be missed by more than this family will ever know. Miss Amy never met a stranger in her life!
She is survived by her parents; Melvin and LeeAnne Ellis; sister and brother in law Debi and Gary Wells, her son and daughter in law Anthony and JudyAnn Ellis, her daughter and significant other Leslie Ellis and Ryan Bennett, and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing is Saturday October 21, 2017 at English funeral chapel in Coeur d’ Alene Idaho at 12 to 4. A celebration of a life well lived and hefting a defiant middle finger to the high blood pressure that took her to soon, will be held at the old Rainbow Inn in Hauser, Idaho from 4 to 7. Potluck, BYOB and stories to share.
A colorful and casual dress code would be appreciated as black was not her color. Purple was. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Amy Jean Ellis Benevolent fund at any Washington Trust Bank location.
