Arlene Grace Jamison

Arlene Grace Jamison, 94 passed away on November 14, 2024 at Orchard Ridge Retirement Center in Coeur d'Alene. Arlene was born on July 17, 1930 in Deerfield, South Dakota to Guy and Grace Barker. She was the second child of five siblings (Junior, Arlene, Maxine, Milo, and Shirley), who moved with Guy and Grace to Dalton Gardens in the early 1940's in a homemade motor home known as the “truck house”.

She married Stan Jamison in April, 1951 in Coeur d'Alene. She gave birth to three sons, Patrick, Michael, and Danny. She worked at Y-J Foods in the family business in many capacities including wrapping meat, bookkeeping, and the general management of Stan's crazy business schemes. Arlene loved playing Bridge, golfing, visiting the Oregon Coast with her girlfriends, and spending time with Stan at the cabin they built on Independence Creek. Most recently, she enjoyed playing piano at Orchard Ridge, but refused to play BINGO.

She is preceded in death by many loved ones, including her husband Stan, her eldest son Pat and her four siblings. She is survived by her other two sons (Mike and Danny), her sister-in-law (Lavelle Donovan), grandchildren (Amber, Noah, Ashley, Jarrod, Kadee, Michelle and Ryan), great-grandchildren (Jordyn, Gracee, Everlee, Thierry, Cole, Cameron, Arya and Riley), and many nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to her as “Auntie Sis”.

The family wishes to thank the folks at Orchard Ridge and Hospice of North Idaho for the amazing care she received. The family plans to hold a celebration of life at a later date.
