Armando Delgado

The Coeur d'Alene Press - Obituaries, Armando Delgado, 89

After a brave battle with pancreatic cancer, Armando passed away Sept. 6, 2017. He was surrounded by his devoted family and close friends at Hospice House at Hummingbird Fields in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in North Africa and French Morocco during the Korean War. Armando was originally from Phoenix, Ariz., where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Arizona State University. He took pride in his alma mater and watched every game he could.

He held a private pilot license, which enabled him to move around from Arizona to Colorado, where he developed and sold recreational properties. Some of his other projects included restoring older commercial buildings and shopping malls. He loved architecture and took care to retain the integrity of the structures. Armando’s interests included flying, photography, boating, fishing and golfing. However, he was happiest when brainstorming and creating his next building project.

Armando is survived by his wife, Gloria of 56 years; and his children, daughter Keri Lee and son David Delgado. His grandchildren are Kristen Howard, Gregory Lee, Lisa Barnett and Brendan Delgado. His great-grandchildren are Kaelyn Howard, Ryland Howard and Henry Barnett. His family will miss his quick wit and loving, generous nature.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 E. Haycraft Ave., Coeur d’Alene, with a luncheon following.

In lieu of flowers, the Delgado family suggests any donations be sent to the Red Cross for hurricane victims.
