Arthur Brand

Arthur R. Brand, age 73, resident of Fighting Creek, a rural area of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, died Oct. 17, 2017, at his property in Fighting Creek. Art was born Oct. 27, 1943, in Upper Lake, Calif., to parents Lilburn “Si” and Alice (Willey) Brand.

Art had a deep love for his family and a passion for his work in the rock crushing business, where he was the owner and operator of Fighting Creek Materials. He also deeply enjoyed his cows, gardening and sausage making.

Art is survived by his wife of 51 years, Stephanie; his four daughters: Stacy Knop and her husband, Cory, from Tuscon, Ariz., with grandchildren, John Bair and Brandon; Lea Ann Brouillard and her husband, Greg, of Hayden, Idaho, and grandchildren, Lauren, Amanda and Samantha; Constance Ottosen and her husband, Brent Sr., of Grants Pass, Ore., with grandchildren Brent Jr., Chancelor and Rebekah; and Ruth Leatham and her husband, Kelly, of Hayden with grandchildren Austin, Barry Sr. and Ashlynn. Other survivors include his seven great-grandchildren and his sister and her husband, Alice and Mel Hawkins of South Bend, Wash.

Art’s Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Oct 20 at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. His Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 919 Indiana Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Art's vigil service will be 7:00 p.m. Friday October 20,2017, at the English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. 4th St., Coeur d'Alene, ID. Funeral Mass will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday October 21, 2017, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 919 E. Indiana Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID. Burial will follow the service at St. Thomas Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Following the graveside service a reception will be held at St. Thomas Parish Center.

His family suggests memorial be made to the Kootenai County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1005, Hayden, ID 83835 on his behalf.
