Dr. Bruce Robert Blinzler, ND, passed away peacefully at his home in Hayden, Idaho, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., surrounded by his loving family. Bruce was a kind, gentle, and witty soul, admired for his compassion and integrity. His legacy of care and dedication profoundly impacted his patients over a remarkable career spanning more than 40 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bruce was born on December 11, 1947, to Francis and Clara Blinzler. As the youngest of three children, he grew up in Buffalo, New York, and graduated from Maryvale High School in 1964. During his high school years, Bruce was an enthusiastic wrestler, proudly representing his team. His passion for learning led him to the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, Illinois, where he graduated in 1973. Bruce's quest for knowledge didn't stop there; he earned his naturopathic degree from Naturopathic acupuncture at the Occidental Institute of Chinese Studies in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, graduating with honors on August 1, 1979.
Bruce's journey took him west to Montana, where he met the love of hid life, Susan. Introduced by mutual friends, the couple quickly fell in love and were marred in Polson, Montana, on June 9, 1984. Bruce and Susan later settled in Hayden, Idaho, where Bruce established a successful naturopathic practice alongside his sister and brother-in-law.
Bruce is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Blinzler; his sisters, Mona Piller and Velma Ernst; his nephews, Ken Piller Jr. and Rob Piller; his nieces, Annie Ernst, Sarah Ernst, and Kim Campbell and her husband, Robert Campbell; and his great-niece, Priya Piller.
Bruce's legacy of kindness, wisdom, and dedication to healing will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
Bruce's memorial will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2293 W. Hanley Ave. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. It will began at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024
