Clayton Robert Lee, 95

Clayton R. Lee peacefully passed away on February 17, 2018 at the Mannie and Gladys Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. Clayton lost a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones under the extraordinary care of the hospice caregivers.

On February 1, 1923 Clayton was born in the town of Giltner, Nebraska to Mabel and Willie Lee. He was preceded in death by his siblings Hannah Lee Talbot, Ervin Lee, and Austin Lee of Grand Island, Nebraska and Dale Lee of Giltner, Nebraska.

He graduated in 1942 from Nebraska School for the Deaf in Omaha. It was there that he met his wife, Rebecca Jane Corliss and they were married in 1944.

The couple moved to southern California in 1944. He worked until retirement, finishing his career at Garrett Aircraft. He and Jane were very involved in the California deaf community. They enjoyed camping and travel including a trip to Africa.

Clayton and Jane moved to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho in 1987 and spent many winters being snow birds in Mesa, Arizona.

Clayton was a kind, loving, hard working man. He was proceeded in death by his wife Jane. He is survived by his daughter Corliss A. Lee Ritterling and her husband Larry; his son Jerry W. Lee and his wife Jeri Anne. His grandchildren are Jennifer A. Ritterling, Michael L. Ritterling and wife Gretchen, Megan Lee Reagan and husband John, Austin D. Lee and wife Ellen. His great-grandchildren are Vivian Lee, Henry Lee and Maya Filipy.

English Funeral Chapel will handle the final arrangements. Online guest book and obituary can be viewed at w.englishfuneralchapel.com. Services will be held in Hebron, Nebraska at Rose Hill Cemetary May 26th at 10:30 a.m.
