Dennis Wesley Petro, 71, passed away March 27, 2023, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Raised in the Rocky Mountains of Denver, Colorado, he was born July 24, 1951, to Arthur Wesley Petro Jr. and Virginia Rae Petro. He led an adventurous life enjoying the great outdoors and cheering on his beloved Broncos. His passion for helping others led him to work at The Talking Book Library in Denver for many years.
Dennis had many wonderful days with his grandchildren, teaching them to fish, swim, and appreciate nature. He took care of every creature he came across, from the tiniest ant to his own beloved cats, Journey and Sage. He was a man who would selflessly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, even when he himself had so little to give. He was a positive and upbeat person and could instantly befriend anyone he came across. He was beloved by so many and will be dearly missed.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Darla McMullen Petro; brother, Daniel Petro and his wife Janice; son Tim Petro and grandson Duncan; step-daughter Katie Jennings, her husband Brandon, and their children Sadie and Grant Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Dean Petro and his parents Arthur Wesley Petro Jr. and Virginia Rae Petro.
