Donald D. Johnson

Donald D. Johnson, 71, went to the Happy Hunting Place in the Sky on June 12, 2024. Don was born on May 24, 1953, to Wayne and Jerine Johnson in Ione, Washington. Don had five siblings Linda Franks, Chris Johnson, John Johnson, Ruth Jaeger, Mike Johnson. Don married his wife Susan Johnson on August 1, 1992. Don had five children Sarah (Chad) Jensen, Isaiah & Joe Johnson, Marvin (Heidi) Cunningham, Paul (Janet) Cunningham and 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Don Loved Hunting Dogs, fishing camping as well as woodwork, canning foods such as pickles, jams, Salsa’s- Beets. He enjoyed Gardening and all animals. Don worked in mines and as a logger and in the lumber mills. Don also served in the U.S. Army. Don is preceded in death by his father and mother Wayne and Jerine, stepfather Fred Dupere, stepmother Bernice Johnson, Brother John, nephews Chris Franks, Nick, granddaughter Megan Cunningham.

Don will be dearly missed by family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 3rd from 1pm to 3pm at the American Legion 1138 E. Poleline Ave. Post Falls. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Hospice of North Idaho 2290 W. Prairie Coeur d’ Alene or any animal shelter.
