Donald Greene

Donald Alan Greene

On July 1st we lost our beloved husband, fun-loving brother and incomparable friend, Don Greene. Don was boating at Twin Lakes, Idaho, on a beautiful sunny day with his wife, Lisa, sister Jan, and life-long friend, Gene Golla. His last words were, "Come on in, the water feels great!" Then the gods of the lake claimed him for their own.

Don passed from this life much as he lived all of his nine lives, full-out with the throttle pinned. He was a baby spirit who spent his life trying everything and pushing the envelope. Artist, musician, motorcyclist and adventurer, he was a loving, kind, and generous soul with a special gift for cultivating deep, life-long friendships at each and every phase of his life. Don often said he was blessed because his siblings were also counted among his best friends.

Donald Alan Greene (Don, 'Lil Donnie, Sonny) was born March 28, 1951 in Lewiston, Idaho, the third son of William Arthur Greene and Gladys Humphrey Greene. He spent his youth "rippin' and tearin' " out at Tammany. Following graduation from Lewiston High School in 1969, he explored the United States and much of South America before landing in Moscow, Idaho. He was a mill worker and semi-truck driver prior to pursuing his dream of working as an artist. Following graduation from Spokane Falls Community College, he moved to Seattle where he worked as a graphic artist. During this time he met Lisa Dyson whom he married on May 27, 1995. The depth of their enduring love was evident to all who knew them.

Don's passion for motorcycling led him to become a Motorcycle Rider Coach for the State of Washington. He found great joy in teaching new riders. He began enjoying his retirement years in 2013, continuing his passions for art, music, motorcycling, traveling, and spending precious time with his wife.

Don is survived by wife, Lisa Greene of Seattle, Washington, brothers Bill (Crystal) Greene of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Jim (Ana) Greene of Fall's Church, Virginia, sisters Jan (Gene) Golla of Lewiston, Idaho, Barbara Chamberlain (Eric Abbott), of Seattle, Washington, and Julie Greene (Ian Walt) of Friday Harbor, Washington, plus aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to count.

A memorial celebration will be 5:00 p.m. Friday September 2, 2016 at the Red Lion Templin's on the River, 414 E. First Avenue, Post Falls, Idaho.

Visit Don's memorial and sign his online guestbook at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.

From Don's journal dated March 11, 2016: "Moments to be treasured...be they good or be they bad...treasure them all. They're all of the moments you have."

Good-bye, Don. Que suena con los angeles--dream with the angels. C'est bon. All is good.
