Dorothy Ann Gallegos, is with her beloved Savior Jesus today. She passed away Dec. 12, 2016, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marvel Fronapfel. Dorothy was born on March 24, 1944, in Torrington, Wyo. She was raised by her mother and stepfather Joseph “Red” Morris. Her siblings are Mary Lou Woods, Richard Fronapfel, James Fronapfel, Bob Fronapfel, Betty McIntyre and Connie Morris. Dorothy and Antonio met in Yakima, Wash., and were married on Oct. 8, 1962.
She worked as an aide at Garfield School, a cook at The Falls Club, and most recently, Walmart in the shoe department. Some of her other interests include crocheting blankets for her children, cooking, and baking, especially her “famous cinnamon rolls.” Dorothy was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi and Real Life Ministries for 12 years. The talent she will be most remembered for are her numerous oil paintings.
She is survived by her husband, Antonio; children Damon (Tama) Gallegos of Yelm, Wash., Ron (Maria) Jacobson of Hayden, Idaho, Catrina Smalley of Post Falls, Idaho, Mark Gallegos of Lake Tapps, Wash., and Michelle (Julie) Gallegos, Ballard, Wash.; grandchildren Nathan, Zach, Cherish, Shayna, Toni, Elizabeth, Vanessa, Jasmine, Tawny, Madi, Chloe, Tomi, Markie, Tyler and Caleb; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marvel Fronapfel; stepdad Joseph Morris; brother Bob Fronapfel; sister Betty McIntyre; grandson Brandon Maurice Gallegos and great-grandson Wallace Samuel George.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
