Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Thome-Kotzian, 82, formally of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away Sept. 8, 2016, at Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho, at 12:40 p.m.
Betty was born in Sadona, Ariz., on May 28, 1934. She moved to Post Falls in 1979 where she spent her time being a homemaker and caregiver for 25 years at Grandma’s Shelter Home.
She was known for her kindness, big heart and crazy sense of humor. She would give anyone the shirt off her back and make sure no one left her home hungry.
She is survived by her children: son Terry Hubbard of Athol, Idaho; daughters Saundra Weston of Hayden, Michelle Thome of Post Falls and Wynema Balich of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and grandkids Amanda Hubbard, Dillan Felt, Trevor Thomas, Travis Hubbard, Cassey Hubbard, John Hubbard, Logan Hubbard, Shane Hubbard, Randy Bedard and Rahshel DesJarlis.
Preceded in death by sons Ronald D. Hubbard (1983), Gary L. Hubbard (1985), Rodney E. Hubbard (2014) and grandson Ryan A. Bedard (2002).
A celebration of life for Betty will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at the home of her grandkids John and Shelly Hubbard, 1193 E. White Cloud Road, Athol. Everyone is welcome.
