Evelyn Elaine Freeze

Evelyn Elaine Freeze, long time resident of Liberty Lake passed away on May 1^st, 2022.  Evelyn was born on October 17^th , 1928 to Walter and Margaret Wendlandt and raised on the family homestead wheat ranch near Reardan, WA.  She lost her mother to illness at an early age and was raised by Walter and Lila Wendlandt at whose wedding she played piano at the age of 11.  After graduating from Reardan High School she studied music at Eastern Washington State College until she met a dashing young man on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.  She and Jack Freeze were married in 1949 and lived on a farm in Campbell Hills north of Otis Orchards.  During these years their 3 surviving children were born;  Nancy (and Don) Millard, Vern (and Colleen) Freeze, and John (and Karine) Freeze. She continued to play piano in church as well as teaching young students.  In 1975 She moved into a home that Jack built himself in Liberty Lake, WA.  Evelyn lost Jack to cancer in 1979 but was blessed with her only grandchild Samuel Freeze in 2001.  She worked at the Inland Power & Light Credit Union where she retired as a manager.  She then took on the challenge of getting a Real Estate License and dividing the timber land above her farm into residential lots which she sold.  Still not done she then assisted her sons for many years at Freeze Manufacturing past her 91^st birthday. 

She was always devoted to her family and supplied them all with fresh vegetables every year from her legendary garden.  Her yard was also famous in the neighborhood for her abundance of flowers.  She never said a bad word about anyone, she was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
