Frank "Rusty" Francis

Frank "Rusty" Francis, 67, of Post Falls died November 3, 2024.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. - Jeremiah 17:7

This is who Rusty was. A man who did not compromise his faith in his God.

He is known for many things, but most commonly, his gift of music.

He was born on Nov. 29, 1956 to Russell Wilbur Francis and Evelyn Mae Dowd in Zanesville, Ohio. They raised him in a little town called Sonora, Ohio, and later moved to Chandlersville, Ohio. He is number seven of ten children: David Francis (deceased), Pamela Carpenter, Gary Francis (deceased), Sharon Heise, Marilyn Francis, "Bobbie" (Barbara) Williams, (Rusty), Kelly Severt, Kimberly Shaw, "Pat" (James Patrick) Francis.

He is survived by his wife Kelly (Copen) Francis, two children, Sarah Evelyn and Noah Josiah, and five grandchildren: Mila, Ryker, Jannessa, Blake, and Jameson, who all live in Post Falls, Idaho, and many beloved friends

When Rusty was 12 years old, he attended a church tent meeting by Marsha Mitchell, in Sonora, Ohio. At that time, he surrendered his live to his Saviour, Jesus Christ, and hands were laid upon him that he might receive the gift of music. The Lord honored that request and he learned to play guitar beautifully by ear starting at age 15. He could not read a single note on a page. He loved Christian musicians, such as Fernando Ortega, Dallas Holm, Darrel Mansfield, and southern gospel groups such as The Paynes. He loved to emulate and learn from musicians like John Fogerty. When he began his music life, he played in a band called, The Country Legend Band and later, in a Christian band, called The Good News Blues. His favorite guitars were the Gibson Hummingbird and the Fender Stratocaster.

We love you Rusty and can't wait to see you again.

Condolences and gifts can be sent to his wife and family at Kelly Francis 398 N. Larri Lee St., Post Falls, ID 83854
