Fred passed away June 13, 2017 in Hayden Lake. Originally from Lowell, Massachusetts Fred moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho after serving as a gunners mate in the Navy during WWII, to go to college. He graduated with a BA from what is now known as Eastern Washington University. Fred married Carol Bruyere and together they raised 7 children. Several years after Carol passed away, Fred married Shirley Farver. They had a wonderful active life together and enjoyed skiing, and golfing. Fred is survived by his children, Bill (Patti) Gavin, Norma Gavin, Mike Gavin, Anne (Rick) Webber, Renie Gavin, Jo Anne (Mark) Frame, and John Gavin. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Fred's name to Foundation Fighting Blindness (www.blindness.org).
