Gerald Lynn Whitney passed away on October 3rd, 2019 in Worley, Idaho. “Gary” was born in 1946 to Ina Mae Whitney Callahan in Marshalltown, Iowa and is survived by his brothers Mike, Bob, Dave and John, sister Cat, daughter Angie, and “Dixie”, his beloved doe that frequented his property with her fawns year after year. Gary was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and National Guardsman, and enjoyed employment in several trades including auto-mechanic at Robideaux Motors and construction with Haskins Company. Most recently Gary had been a volunteer for Idaho Fish & Game and was one of the regular volunteers, he enjoyed the friendship of the other men when working at maintaining equipment, building bluebird nest boxes or helping with a fisheries project in the field. Gary enjoyed working with his hands, drawing plans for new projects, hunting, fishing, watching sports, and eating sushi.
