Celebrating the Life of Harriet Frederiksen

Harriet Frederiksen, age 90, from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away on June 11, 2018 at Creekside Inn. Daughter of Harold and Katherine Bille, Harriet was born on September 12, 1927 in Tyler, Minnesota. She married the love of her life, Glenn Frederiksen, on October 8, 1950 at Danebod Lutheran Church (also in Tyler, Minnesota). Over the sixty-seven years that Harriet and Glenn were married, they lived in Minnesota, South Dakota, Montana, and Idaho. Harriet was very proud of her Danish heritage and was a devoted Lutheran throughout her life. She was a master gardener, avid reader, great dancer, and loved playing bridge, pinochle, and whist. Most of her career she worked in healthcare, and she was most proud of the many years she served as a nurse for Dr. Haas in Rapid City, SD. She was an avid sports fan and basketball was her favorite sport to watch on TV, but she also loved the Seahawks and Mariners.

Harriet is survived by her three daughters: Loretta Pontier and husband Jim of Spirit Lake, Idaho; Janie Hirth of Helena, Montana; Colleen Oliver and husband Leonard of Seattle, WA; grandchildren Erika Whinihan, Derek Hirth, Kristen Diede, Jeffrey Oliver, Dana Frederiksen, and Erin Hirth; great-grandchildren Marques Davis, Allison Diede, Evan Hirth, Daniel Diede, Laeyla Brooks, Cameron Hirth, and Ellis Whinihan; and brother Raymond “Ray” Bille. Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, son Wayne Frederiksen, brother Ernest Bille and sisters Ethel Faaborg, Lucile Taylor, Gladys Erickson, and Irene Hansen.

A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Dan Forsgren, will be held on Saturday, June 16 @ 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 812 N. 5th Street, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
