Jack W. Frank
September 21, 1952 - April 20, 2023
One of a kind.
Born and raised in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains outside of Boulder, Colorado, Jack acquired his love of the outdoors and adventure from an early age.
Jack was a gifted athlete, accomplished hunter and taxidermist, talented artist, and brilliant musician. He had the rare ability to play the banjo both impressively and beautifully.
Kind and always thoughtful, Jack brought a unique way of thinking into every conversation. Anyone lucky enough to meet him very likely remembered him.
After his years in Colorado obtaining his music degree, playing in bands, and finding adventure, Jack found his way to Idaho. He loved his off-grid lifestyle on a beautiful mountain outside of Spirit Lake.
Jack passed away from a heart attack at his sister Sandy’s home after spending a perfect day together sharing memories and playing cribbage.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, H.A. ‘Tunney’ and Margaret (Gibson) Frank. He is survived by his five siblings, Hal, Sandy (Tom), Steve (Erica), Kenny (Lori), and Pam.
The first of Tunney and Peg’s “Thunderin’ Herd” has laid down. May he rest in peace.
He will be forever loved and missed by family and friends. May his memory live on in the many stories that his numerous nieces and nephews will undoubtedly tell over the years of their unique, and much loved, Uncle Jack.
A celebration of life will be held this summer.
A Mass will be offered on Jack’s behalf at 5 pm on June 24th at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene.
