Jacqueline Marie (Jacquie) Miller, entered eternal rest on Friday, December 29, 2017 in Coeur d’Alene Idaho from complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 77.
Jacquie was born April 11, 1940 in Los Angeles, CA to Jack and Dorothy Slaughter, the eldest of their two daughters. Jacquie is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Jack L. Miller of Coeur d’Alene; her much loved son, Shawn Miller of Coeur d’Alene along with her daughters Sherry (Barry) Leonard, Andrea (Bill) Adams, Laurie Tallon, stepsons, Scott (Alyda) Miller, Mitch (Joy) Miller and Mark (Paula) Miller. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
After starting a family at an early age, Jacquie went back to school as an adult and earned her High School diploma. She was very proud the day that she was hired by Pacific Bell starting as a DA operator and ending her career as a Business Service Representative. Although she was hired in Southern California, Jacquie spent the majority of her years working at various offices in Northern California, especially in the Stockton & Sacramento area.
While considering retirement Jacquie, Jack and Shawn visited and fell in love with the Coeur d’Alene area, moving there permanently in 2005. Happily settling in Hayden, they were active in both the Lake City Church as well as their neighborhood community of Strawberry Fields.
An avid quilter, Jacquie discovered her love of quilting in 1996 while living in Temecula, CA and continued with her art throughout the remainder of her years. The beauty of her pieces will live on through many generations to come. Jacquie also enjoyed spending her time cooking, baking, reading, doing intricate counted cross stitch pieces along with collecting and selling Longaberger baskets.
Jacquie’s life will be celebrated with a private memorial by her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
