Jim Fromm of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully June 26, 2024. Born on July 25, 1945 to Richard and Frances Fromm in Sandpoint, Idaho; he grew up in Rathdrum, and at age 12 the family moved to Coeur d'Alene.
Jim attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy in Coeur d'Alene; graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor's degree and went on to teach chemistry and biology for 33 years at Kellogg High School.
Jim loved his hometown of Coeur d'Alene; served as a city councilman for 4 years then as mayor from 1981-1985. After he retired from teaching, he worked for the city of Coeur d'Alene, first as a reserve bicycle police officer for 7 years then as an ambassador for 2 years. He and his wife Lisa enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world.
Jim had three children with Maureen McDonald: Eric, Rick, and Janelle.
Jim is survived by his wife Lisa of 38 years; his brother Paul (Lisa) Fromm; Jim's three children Eric and Rick Fromm and Janelle (Kasey) Dunn; sister-in-law Cindy (Bob) Bondurant and brother-in-law Monte Arthur. He also leaves behind grandchildren Ara, Taylor, Kayla, Lauren and Dita and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and hid brother Mark Fromm.
At Jim's request no service will be held. In lieu of flowers to charity of choice.
