John Rheinschmidt

John Theodore “Ted” Rheinschmidt Jr. passed away peacefully on the morning of August 15, 2018.

Ted was born on June 22, 1945 in Spokane, Washington to John and Evelyn Rheinschmidt. He graduated from North Central High School of Spokane in 1964.

After High School, Ted enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Spokane where he met and married Joellen Thom in 1969. They moved to Post Falls, Idaho and had two children, Curtis John Rheinschmidt and Rebecca Ann Rheinschmidt.

Ted was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing and camping were some of the many outdoor activities he enjoyed with his family.

He was employed by the Idaho Veneer Company in Post Falls where he worked until his retirement.

During retirement, Ted and Jo became “Snowbirds”, spending winters in Arizona and summers in Idaho. The River City Garden Club became a great source of enjoyment for Jo and Ted as they continued to express their love of gardening out in their yard. Over the years, they planted many plants and flowers which bloomed in their garden.

John Theodore “Ted” Rheinschmidt Jr., was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Rheinschmidt, his brother, William Rheinschmidt, and his daughter, Becky Rheinschmidt.

He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter-in-law.
