John Charles Zittercob

John Charles Zittercob passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on August 15th, 2024.

John was born on May 11, 1955, to Jane (Flagel) Zittercob and Gerald Zittercob in Nyssa, OR. He graduated from Fruitland High School in Fruitland, ID class of 1974. He married the love of his life, Cheryl (Trick) Zittercob in January of 1976. They were married 48 wonderful years.

John had several accomplishments early in life. He enlisted in the U.S. Airforce December of 1975 and was stationed in Albuquerque, NM at Kirkland Air force base with his new wife, where he served as an AF Medic until Spring of 1979. During that time, John took several college classes in the evening. He was able to accomplish an associate’s degree in Radiology Technology, a Bachelors of University Studies, as well as graduating certifications from the University of Albuquerque, NM School of Nuclear Medicine, awarded with Graduate of Distinction and Magna Cum Lade honors.

After honorable discharge, John wanted to be close to family, so he relocated to Spokane Washington where he worked for Sacred Heart Medical Center from 1983 to 1987. He eventually found a career at Spokane Cardiology, where he ran the main Cath Lab from 1989 to 2009. John was very dedicated to his patients and Doctors he worked with.

In his earlier years, John enjoyed many sports such as golfing, water skiing, Track and Field, and Snow Skiing. He and his family often enjoyed trips to many Winter Ski Resorts in the Pacific Northwest and Canada.

John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cheryl Zittercob, Son Ryan Zittercob, Daughter Jennifer (Zittercob) Fricke, Grandchildren: Evan Fricke and Paige Fricke, Sister Jan Troutner, Mother-in-Law Norma Trick, brother and sisters in law Gary (Debby) Trick, Kathy Obray, Charlene (Lonnie) King, Steve (Sheila) Trick, and several Nieces and Nephews.

He is Proceeded in death by his mother Jane McConkey, father Gerald Zittercob, brother Jerry Zittercob and Father-in-Law Marlow Trick.

 Celebrations of Life will be held Saturday, September 28th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3606 S. Schafer Rd, Spokane Valley, WA. 

Arrangements by English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls.
