June Jones

June J. Jones passed away suddenly on July 24th, 2017, at her home in Rathdrum, Idaho, after a brief illness. Though absent now from this world, she went on to share in the heavenly glory of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, whose Kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. She was 85 years old. She was known to her family and friends by the name Jeanette, but she sometimes used her given first name June.

Jeanette was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on June 14th, 1932, to Adolph E. Meissner, her father, and Lottie Meissner (nee Wing), her mother. Jeanette was the youngest child of Adolph's and Lottie's ten children. Their children were Nellie, Elmer, Wesley, Manely, Merlin, Earl, Cala, Eugene, Eldrid, and June, all of whom are now passed on. Jeanette's parents were hard-working and God-fearing Iowa farmers, and Jeanette was raised on a farm. She loved the country life. Her father was also a carpenter for the Rock Island Railroad and was a man of many skills. Many of Jeanette's siblings would later move to California, which back then was truly the "Golden State". When she was grown up, Jeanette's parents sent her to California, and there she married Bradford Marion Jones on May 18th, 1950, in the town of Sunnymead, California. At that time, Bradford was in the Air Force, but would soon retire from that and enter the Federal civil service, working for the Air Force. After a short residence in Marin County, north of San Francisco, the young couple moved to San Bernardino and eventually settled in the little town of Rialto, which back then still had many orange orchards and towering eucalyptus trees. In the meantime, after a hard life of farming, Jeanette's parents, Adolph and Lottie, comfortably retired to the nearby city of San Bernardino, where they ran a small dairy business. By and by, Jeanette's parents preceded her by leaving this tired, dark world for that glorious Heavenly kingdom above. All this happened many years ago.

Bradford and Jeanette would have four children. These were, in order of birth, Steve, Larry, Becky, and Robert (who now goes by the name of Todd Pendleton). All these children are still living. In the early 1990s, Bradford and Jeanette retired and left behind the hectic life, smoggy skies, and crowded freeways of Southern California and moved north. After a brief stay in Steilacoom, Washington, Bradford and Jeanette eventually settled in the vicinity of Rathdrum, Idaho, on a large property in the country, near Lone Mountain. However, a few years later, her husband Bradford would pass away due to complications from Leukemia. Jeanette sold the property and settled in a beautiful house near the center of Rathdrum. Her house has a lovely garden. Of Jeanette's four children, her son Todd lived with Jeanette at her home in Rathdrum; her daughter Becky resides in Fontana, California; her son Larry currently resides in Petersborough, New Hampshire; and her son Steve is a resident of the city of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. All four children, and spouses, will be attending the funeral service, along with Jeanette's many friends that she had at her church. They loved her and will deeply miss her, though they also rejoice that Jeanette is now in the radiant glory of that everlasting Light.

The funeral service will be held at her church, Rathdrum Bible Church, at 1 o'clock PM on Tuesday, August 1st, located at 15127 Stevens Street, in Rathdrum, Idaho. Jeanette's pastor, Dan Nickerson, will be officiating at the service. A graveside service will follow at 2 o'clock PM at the Pinegrove Cemetery, located at 6693 Highway 53, Rathdrum, Idaho. A reception will follow after the graveside service at the Rathdrum Bible church; a pot-luck will be provided by the church.
