Justian David Merriman

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our son, Justian Merriman on August 17, 2024, at the age of 28.

Justian, named after his great-grandfather C. Justian Merriman, was born in Butte, MT and subsequently lived in several diverse places including Bozeman, MT, Pleasanton, CA, Fort Worth, TX, Easton, MD, and ultimately Spokane Valley, WA where he lived since 2007. 

Our beloved son and brother graduated from Central Valley High School and at the time of his passing, was attending North Idaho College in their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. He looked forward to new adventures in life and serving the community as a nurse and optimistically speaking about his future in health care. Justian pursued his wide array of passions and interests wherever they led him.

Charismatic and creative, he made impactful and lasting connections with those around him. 

Justian is survived by his parents, Janet and Dave Merriman of Coeur d’Alene, ID and his sister Jane Merriman of Bellingham, WA, his grandmother Vera Tuningley of Kelowna, BC, aunts Jeri-Lyn Osayande, also of Kelowna, and Jenny Lou Harder of Surrey, BC.

Justian will be deeply, deeply missed. 

 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

Dear God, please help us rise above our sadness and sorrow. Nourish our spirits with your love and light. Heavenly Father, hear our prayer and grant us peace within our soul to fill this absence in our hearts. Amen.

The family will share details of a life celebration for Justian at a later date.
