Karen Davisson

Karen Faye Davisson, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, beautiful and adored mother, donned her wings and returned to Heaven on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the young age of 71.

Karen was born to Wilma Benson in Oakland, Calif., on April 5, 1945. She was the first of two children and attended Clear Lake High School in Lakeport, Calif. On June 1, 1962, she married her high school sweetheart Richard Howard Davisson, whom she met on horseback. She was a supportive and devoted mother and dedicated her life to her family, raising five beautiful and successful children.

Karen and her husband managed and directed several Little Miss California pageants. She encouraged and managed the pursuit of her daughters Jill and Melissa’s aspirations in the commercial and movie business of Hollywood. She was a member of the Red Hat Society as well as the Seniors 50 & Older Group. She was an avid poker player. She loved all animals and raised several beautiful dogs, including Daisy and Ti-Amo. Her love for all living things was unconditional and her heart was generous and selfless.

Karen’s husband departed this life too soon on April 29, 2008. She devoted the last 10 years of her husband’s life to caring for him with the utmost devotion after a debilitating stroke.

Karen’s legacy will always remain within those who survive her passing. She is survived by her son, Richie Davisson and daughter-in-law Lisa Davisson; daughter Robin Swanson and son-in-law Tim Swanson; daughter Kathy Davisson-Miller and son-in-law Bruce Miller; daughter Jill Davisson-Mathews and son-in-law Tim Mathews; daughter Melissa Cooney and son-in-law Jason Cooney; her brother, Bill Hundley; grandchildren Amanda Davisson-Schena, Jake Davisson, Faith Swanson, Amber Noble, Candy Kelley-Noble, Lexi Catterton and Elle Mathews; and great-grandchildren Logan Corkhill and Kellin Catterton. Karen also is survived by her adopted son, Todd Warren, and adopted grandson, Brad Warren.
