Keith Straley

Keith A. Straley, 81 of Post Falls, formerly of Mission Viejo, California died July 23, 2016 at Hospice House of North Idaho. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St George's Catholic Church of Post Falls on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing and a Rosary will be held on Monday July 25, 2016 at English Funeral Home of Post Falls at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery of Post Falls. Father Tim Ritchie will be officiating.

Keith was born in Carrington North Dakota on September 22, 1934 to Sewell B. Straley and Iona L. (Fornshell) Straley. He grew up on the family farm and attended Royal School, and High School in Carrington North Dakota.

Keith was united in marriage to Marie Bichler on September 22, 1953 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Harvey, North Dakota. Keith and Marie lived in Moorhead, Minnesota and Fargo, North Dakota where their 4 children were born.

Keith worked as an auto mechanic and a tow truck driver while in North Dakota. The family moved to Garden Grove, California in 1962 where he worked as a heavy duty mechanic for Sully Miller and C.W. Poss. In 1982 Keith and Jerry Fox went into business together and started a very successful partnership, J&K Equipment Rental, where he worked until he retired in 1995.

Keith connected with his children and grandchildren for many years dirt bike riding and camping in the deserts of Southern California.

Keith and Marie moved in Post Falls in December 1999 where he lived until his death. Keith enjoyed delivering food to the elderly for Meals on Wheels for many years. He was an avid blood donor until his health inhibited donating; he was one pint short of 3 gallons. He loved gardening, wood-working, and genealogy. He was an avid reader, he couldn't be kept in books, and he looked forward to meeting his coffee buddies at The Trading Company in Post Falls.

Keith is survived by his wife Marie Straley of Post Falls, Carol (Edward/Chip) Miller of Coeur d'Alene, Daniel (Robin) Straley of Murrieta, California, Sheila (William) McKenna of Silverdale, Wa, and Mark Straley of Woodinville, Wa. Grandchildren Tamara McKenna, Benjamin McKenna, Randy McKenna, Jake McKenna, Amy Straley, Logan Miller, 6 Great Grandchildren, and has a Great Great Grandchild on the way. Keith is also survived by his Brother in Law Larry Quesenberry, Nephew James Quesenberry, and Niece Nancy (Quesenberry) Beach.
