Ken Stuker

Ken Stuker, age 79, passed away at home in Coeur d’Alene, ID, on May 22, 2017.

Ken was born in Coeur d’Alene, ID., on January 5, 1938, to Christian and Era Elena (Scarborough) Stuker. Ken was a lifetime resident of Coeur d’Alene, ID. He joined the Air Force at 17 years old. After his discharge in 1957, he returned to Coeur d’Alene and went to work for the Highway Department. Ken attended the University of California and Idaho State University Business College. He married Wilda Smith and together they had two children Janice and Shawn. They later divorced and he raised the 2 children working as a full time police officer and putting himself through Gonzaga University where he earned a Master’s Degree. He then worked as a probation officer, a juvenile social worker for the Department of Health and Welfare, and he owned and operated a Pawn Shop. He met Wendy Woods and they were married in Coeur d’Alene on November 17, 1984. Before his retirement he worked as a PSR caregiver.

Ken was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-day Saints, Kootenai Masonic Lodge No. 24 A.F. & A.M., and the VFW Post 889. He enjoyed going to yard sales and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy of Coeur d’Alene, ID; 2 children: daughter Jan Bryant of Henderson, NV, and son Shawn and his wife Sarah Stuker of Coeur d’Alene, ID; Grandchildren Laura, Jeremy, Blake, Tyler, Dylan, Shilah, and Isaiah; 4 great grandchildren; brother Earl Stuker of Midvale, UT; 4 sisters: Sally Schroeder of Layton, UT, Lennie Semonin of Champaign, IL, Kay Arvanetias of Buena Park, CA, and Lula Pulton of Vernal, UT.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Irvin Stuker and Herman Stuker; and sister Cecilia Teter.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 Tuesday May 30, 2017, at the English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. 4th St., Coeur d’Alene, ID. The graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 31, 2017, at Forest Cemetery, 1011 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene, ID.
