Ken passed away on Thursday January 18, 2024 in Hayden, Idaho from cancer. Ken was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 1930 to Paul R. Senior and Esther Hazel (Forest) Miller. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and attended public school in Coeur d’Alene. He went to work for Ohio Match Company in 1946. The mill changed owners several times in his 46 years of employment. He did various jobs in the mill but most of the years were on the river and mill wrighting. He made many friends while working there. In 1950 he married Theresa Bowman in Coeur d’Alene and were blessed with 6 healthy children, 3 sons and 3 daughters which he was very proud of. He enjoyed working on the farm and in his shop. He was very capable of engineering and building various pieces of equipment for the farm or for fishing. He enjoyed camping and fishing, especially for Kokanee, although he fished all the local lakes, he also enjoyed fishing at Koocanusa, Columbia River, Vancouver Island and the Washington and Oregon Coasts. He made several fun fishing trips with his friend Camper Mike. He also enjoyed helping his wife make blankets for the project Linus and having quality time with his wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
Proceeding him in death were his parents, his brother Paul R. Junior and his wife Ruth Miller, his sister Pauline Best and her husband Harold, and his sister Betty Donald and her husband Jim, and his grandson Christopher Lindsay. Survivors are his wife Theresa, his sons Michael (Linda) of Rathdrum, Thomas of Coeur d’Alene, and Daniel (Lisa) of Harrison, Arkansas. Daughters Susan Miller Kuku of Anchorage, Alaska, Kristine Monaghan of Anchorage, Alaska, and Kathleen Henry (Mike) of Lake Havasu City Arizona, 21 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Tuesday January 23rd, 2024. The viewing will start at 9:15 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. followed by the burial at St. Thomas Cemetery.
