Laura went be with the Lord on May 6, 2018.
Laura married Mathew A Riem on April 12th 1948. Laura was preceded in death by her husband on Jan 12th 1983. Laura is survived by four loving children Garry, Frank, (CJ) Wendy M Ward, (John) & Connie J Vanboxtell, (Dan) and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 of her brothers Wilfred, Milton & Wallace Leis in addition to 2 sisters Marie Kerr and Catherine Musclow. Laura has a younger brother Robert and an older sister Mildred who both live in Kitchener.
In 1957 Laura and her husband Mathew moved from Canada to Costa Mesa, California where they lived until 1970. In June of 1970 they purchased the “Victory Inn” in Coeur d’ Alene which they ran until 1978 when Husband Mathew became ill of Cancer and passed in 1983. Laura was a past president of the CDA Eagles #486 and a member of the Drill Team for many years. She was also a state trustee and membership chairman. Laura was also a past member of Avondale Golf + Country Club and worked in the kitchen and lounge area in the late 70’s early 80’s for several years with longtime friend Ginny Pederson.
Laura and George Siroston were married for brief time but soon divorced. Both being strong willed could not live together however, purchased condos next door to each other. That worked well as they enjoyed dancing and sustained several years of companionship. George passed away in 1998. Laura met Bill Law and took up skiing when she was 70 years old. They had many happy years together until Bills passing in 2011.
In June of 2014 she moved to Garden Plaza where she enjoyed good friends and fellowship. Many thanks to the wonderful staff there. In 2016 she moved to Honeysuckle Place. The folks there are fantastic and she enjoyed the rest of her life there. Many thanks to Kirk, Joyce, Tina, Lisa, Maddie, Katherine, and to the ones I forgot to mention please forgive me. There will be a celebration of life, May 30, 2018, 11:00 am at the Hayden Eagles located 1520 W Wyoming.
