Lee Douglas Ammen

Lee Ammen, age 60, died of natural causes after a battle with cancer on September 15, 2024 in Spokane, Washington. He is survived by his daughter, Sarrena Lynne Ammen, his siblings Sue Ammen, Jim Ammen, Lynne Bryant, and Lani Jeffery. His parents, George and Cecelia Ammen preceded him in death.

Lee was born July 23, 1964 and came to his adoptive family as an infant. He grew up in Boulder, Montana where he spent many hours in the nearby mountains with his friends and family. He also loved his family’s cabin on Canyon Ferry Lake and was an excellent water skier. He was an outstanding cross-country runner.

Lee was happiest working outdoors, in the forest logging and as a ranch hand. He especially loved working with horses. For many years he lived in Ford, Washington. Lee’s daughter, Sarrena, was born in 1994, to his great delight.

Lee had a special talent for drawing, especially animals and indigenous themes, and for making jewelry out of antlers with his artwork. He did this with no formal art training. Even though he went through many difficult times in his life, he always had his artwork. He will continue to live on through the beauty of his art.
