Leo Collins
Leo Dale Collins left this world on Aug. 31, 2016, to join his wife and daughter. He was born Oct. 29, 1943, and spent his entire life building a home and a legacy with his family in Post Falls, Idaho. It is there he and his wife raised two sons, and a daughter.
Leo was a skilled builder and enjoyed spending most of his time as a livestock rancher. Family and friends knew Leo for his incredible work ethic, beautiful craftsmanship and love for animals. It wasn’t uncommon to stop by Leo’s house and be offered a cup of coffee and a pair of work gloves because catching up with Leo meant working alongside him.
Leo is preceded in death by his wife, Cheri Collins; their daughter, Kelly Collins and his brother, Harve Collins. He is survived by his sister, Veralee Rao of Wilmington, Del.; two sons, Keith (and Dawn) Collins of Edwall, Wash., and Kevin (and Tracy Wood) Collins of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; six grandchildren, Justin (and Jeneal) Collins, Becky (and Tyler) Murray, Adam (and Cassandra) Collins, Katie Collins, Tia Collins and Sarah (and Matt) Cox; and eight great-grandchildren, Hayden, Jace and Jaelynn Collins, Knox Murray, Andrew and Cael Collins, and Brylen and Harlen Cox.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at Community Presbyterian Church in Post Falls.
