Lina died peacefully January 10th, two days before her 95th birthday.

Lina was born in Bossano, Canada to Harvey and Aurora (Mallette) Montreuil.

When she was two years old her parents and two brothers moved to Los Angeles. Lina learned to speak English in 1st grade. When WWII broke out she worked building a anti-aircraft kites for the war effort. Her friend and future sister-in-law, Genevieve introduced her to Bill PuFahl at the tennis courts. They married in 1942.

In 1947 Bill, Lina, their first daughter Williene, and Lina’s parents followed her brothers family to a new adventure in Idaho. They had three more children, Terry, Ron and Felicia after moving to Cd’A. The family lived in a big house on 10th St. near the Catholic Church.

Lina loved to entertain and there were always guests for coffee after masses and dinners and card parties for friends. She was a great mother, and life for her family was always an adventure. Bill passed when Lina was only 45. To support the family Lina went to work at the North Shore Hotel, and became the manager of Catering and Sales for 10 years. After, she started her own business by opening a small dress shop, Lina’s Handmaiden.

She married Bill McFarland in 1979. They traveled extensively and loved attending Seahawk games. Bill passed away in 2007. Lina filled her life with family, friends, bridge and her kitty Minou.

Surviving Lina are her children Williene (John) Gagnon, Terry (Sandy) PuFahl, Ron (Phyllis) PuFahl, Felicia (Dean) Meshew, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three step-children and numerous nieces and nephews, and her remaining sister-in-law, Evelyn.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St Thomas Church, Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1:00 pm. with a reception following at the Parish Center, lower section.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice of No. ID, and wishes to extend thanks to Bristol Heights Assisted Living and Hospice for their wonderful care.
