Linda Birdsong, aged 73, took a walk with the angels to be with the Lord in the early morning of January 6, 2023, passing peacefully. She was born April 29, 1949 in San Diego, California. She spent most of her youth in Lakeside, California after a short time living on a farm in southwestern Iowa.
Following graduation from high school, she pursued secretarial work for a number of years until beginning work with IBM Corporation in San Jose, California. In the early 1990’s, she moved to Idaho to be near her parents and continued her secretarial work while attending the local community college. In 2003, she moved to Alaska and worked as an executive assistant in the oil industry. Her position led to subsequent moves to Colorado and Texas while also voluntarily providing full-time care for her aging mother. She retired in 2014 to continue caring for her mother and returned to reside in Post Falls, Idaho.
Linda was passionate about gardening and keeping her house and vehicles spotless. She was known by both family and friends as a strong independent woman who was kind, sweet, and caring of family and friends.
Linda is survived by her brother, Lawrence, and his wife Connie of Castro Valley, California, a niece and nephew, Sarah and Lucas Camp (wife Christina and 3 grand-nephews and a grand-niece), and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond, 2007, and Ellen Camp, 2016.
Cremation arrangements are being handled through the English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A graveside service will be held at the Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, Iowa in the late spring.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations in Linda’s memory be made to your favorite local charity.
