Lois grew up on the southside of Chicago near 61st and Green Street. The neighborhood gang included her future husband Ken Carlson. The foundation of her faith started in her neighborhood at the Brethren's for Christ Mission. Lois would go on to attend a Secretarial School in Chicago and later become a Kelly Girl at Midway Airport in Chicago. After marrying her neighborhood sweetheart, Ken, she would engineer our family through several military assignments across the United States and Spain. Lois wove a house into a home twice, once in Illinois and once in Idaho, not to mention the many beautiful afghans. These homes were blessed with her great cooking and her love for a good recipe. When she left her home of 30 years in Evergreen Park IL, she moved to Coeur D Alene and worked with school children with her friends known as the "grandmas". She did not hesitate to organize annual family vacations in Canada and The Cayman Islands. Lois had a great faith, gentle spirit, positive attitude and wonderful sense of humor. At the very core of her being was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Lois is survived by her children, Ken (Madeline), Glenn (Jane), Chris (Carey), Roy (Janet), Jennifer (Eric) 15 Grandchildren  Shannon(Graham), Bridget, Madeline(Brady), Kenny, Pete(Kendra), Mike(Danae), Colton(Mary) , Ryann (Dylan), Alison(Kelsey), Isaac, Christina, James ,Jordan, Joshua, Andrew and 3 Great grandchildren Madeline, Avalynn and Venus.

Lois relied heavily on Gods word some of her favorite passages were:

Rom 11:33-36, John 3:16-17, Ephesians 2:8-9, Psalms 19

Romans 8:28

And we know all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are  called according to his purpose.
