Margaret Weller

Margaret Dorthy (Reed) Weller – aged 101 – passed away December 11, 2016, into the waiting arms of her Savior Jesus Christ.

Mom was born September 26, 1915, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Judd Douglas Reed and Bernice Muriel Fitzsimmons Reed. She was the third of ten children, all of whom have preceded her in death with the exception of one sister and one brother.

She was a very bright student, starting high school at 12 years of age, then dropped out for three years to help with the home and younger children.

At 21, she married Floyd Weller, who she had grown up with and they raised five children together. She and Floyd were married for 64 years until his death at age 87.

While raising her children, she served her community of Mica Flats by being a 4-H leader for 31 years, a Juvenile Grange Matron for several years. She served on the Election Board, belonged to the Mica Ladies Club, hosted Bible study at her house for 20 years, and served everyone lunch.

Fair time was always a favorite time of year for her and she won hundreds of ribbons over the years for her cakes, cookies, etc.

After retirement they traveled to Hawaii, two Alaska cruises, and numerous trips with the Good Sams RV Club.

Mom and Dad loved to dance and spent a lot of time at the Senior Center in Coeur d’Alene. Mom loved games and playing pinochle and King and in the Corner.

For years she made Raggedy Anna and Andy dolls for all the grandchildren and friends. She was the ultimate cook and family dinners were her favorite. Relatives from all over showed up on Sundays for dinner.

The house was her prize and she always kept the kitchen floor shining.

She is survived by her brother John Reed and sister Jane Simmons. She is also survived by her five children, Peggy Geren (Jim), Bill Weller (Betty), Larry Weller (Karen), Clyde Weller (Kay), Diana Peterson (Neil), eighteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandson Floyd Robert Geren, 3 great grandchildren: Ginger Louise Geren, Eric Anthony Lewis, and Joshua Wayne Wilkerson; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Weller; and her beloved husband Floyd.

There will be a Memorial Service at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. 4th St., Coeur d'Alene, ID, on December 30, at 11:00 am.
