Mary McFarland

Mary Genevieve Walker McFarland, age 84, passed away at The Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene, ID, on September 18, 2018.

Mary was born in Coeur d’Alene, ID, on May 8, 1934, to William and Laura (Secaur) Garvey. Mary was a lifetime resident of Coeur d’Alene and graduated from the Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy.

She worked for Kootenai Memorial Hospital in the Emergency Room for over 30 years.

Mary was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene, ID. She enjoyed gardening and watching sports, especially the Seattle Mariners, Gonzaga Bulldogs, the Seattle Seahawks, and Little League Baseball.

She is survived by her daughter Debra and husband Rod Colwell of Coeur d’Alene, ID, daughter Linda and husband Steve Richards of Spokane, WA, daughter JoLee and husband Tony Tobin of Cheney, WA, daughter Kathy and husband Paul Montreuil of Dalton Gardens, ID, daughter Patty and husband Roger Stewart of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and daughter Terry Jensen of Coeur d’Alene, ID; son-in-law Pete Lenz; sister Colleen and husband Jim Chase of Coeur d’Alene, ID, sister Frances Hagan of Rigby, ID, and sister Rita and husband Don Fitzpatrick of Spokane, WA; 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her son David Lee Walker in 2017; daughter Ginni Lenz in 2014, and daughter Frances Cecelia Walker in 1965.

Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Mission House, 919 E. Indiana Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.

Visitation will be Thursday September 20, 2018 from 4:00 pm until the 7:00 pm Rosary at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. 4th St., Coeur d’Alene, ID. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Friday September 21, 2018, at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, 919 E. Indiana Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID, with burial to follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. A reception will held at St. Thomas Parish Center.
