Maury Batten

Maury Daryll Batten is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a horrific battle with brainstem cancer and its complications. He passed away Sept. 2, 2016, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Maury was preceded in death by both his parents and his sister, Donna Roses. He is survived by his wife, Myrna; his sister, Janine Cardona (husband Charlie); his brother, Tim Batten (wife Linda); sister Joy Bennett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Monty and Caren Spencer; brother-in-law Don Roses; many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Maury was born and raised in Southern California. He was a Vietnam veteran. He moved to North Idaho in 2003 and thoroughly loved living here, with wildlife roaming through his backyard and fishing with his beloved dog, The Muffin Man, on the Spokane River. His 12 years working at Northwest Swiss were most pleasurable and greatly appreciated.

Many special thanks to Caren and Monty Spencer, Janine and Charlie Cardona, Dean Roses and Darin Spencer for their unselfish and dedicated help during this difficult year. Thanks to the Real Life Ministries’ Bible study group and cancer crochet group ladies for their prayers and support. Thanks to the Kootenai Health doctors and nurses, Cancer Care Northwest, Life Care of Coeur d’Alene, and North Idaho Home Health for their care.

No services will be held. I love you, Daddy. Goodnight.
