Michael Ford

Michael James Ford, 51, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at his home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Michael was born Aug. 1, 1965, to his mother, Louisa “Lucy” May (Cook) Ford and father, James David Ford.

Michael joined the United States Army in 1990 and took pride in serving his country, contributing to the Gulf War. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1993.

He had great talents as a musician, spending his days playing guitar and challenging himself to new musical adventures. Those that knew him quickly discovered his great love for rock and roll, particularly that of Iron Maiden. Throughout his lifetime, he indulged in nearly 30 concerts for this band, which he idolized a great deal.

Michael is survived by his mother, Lucy; his siblings, Robert “Skip” and (Kayleen) Barcelou, Cheri Dobler, Juanita and (Peter) Contabile, Lisa and (Randy) Paul, Jimmy “Dave” Ford and Steve Ford; his daughters, Trista and (Matthew) Gailley, and Amber and (Eric) Furman; as well as his six grandchildren, Dawson, Trevor, Alyson, Nesa, Alec and Frederic.

A service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, Idaho, with a procession to Evergreen Cemetery to follow for inurnment and military service.
