Michael O'Neill

Michael Patrick O’Neill, 58, born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on May 12, 1957 to Donald and Patricia O’Neill, passed away February 3, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Mike grew up and attended school in Coeur d’Alene. He worked at the family business managing and tending bar at the Slab Inn in Post Falls for more than a decade. He moved on, and for the last 25 years worked for RBC, installing underground fiber optic cable. Mike loved his job and traveled through many states with the company.

Mike loved the St. Joe Valley, this is where he called home. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, and working on his cabin. Mike most loved riding his four-wheeler with his dog Rainy and taking family and friends on long trail rides. Mike was a great person with a big heart and always ready and willing to help a friend in need.

Michael O’Neill is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Patricia, and his niece Morgan.

Michael is survived by the love of his life, and long-time girlfriend Sharon Reily and family, of St. Joe City, brother David O’Neill and family, sister Dianne O’Neill and family of Post Falls, and Jim and Lecia O’Neill and family of Coeur d’Alene.

We give special thanks to Sharon’s daughter, Angel, for all your kindness, patience, support, and hard work. Thank you, Angel.

Thank you to everyone in St. Joe City for all you have done.

Services will be held Monday, February 13 at 10 AM at St. Thomas Church on 9th and Indiana in Coeur d’Alene. Reception to follow in St. Thomas Center.

Michael’s ashes will be buried with his parents at St. Thomas cemetery.
