Michael Floyd Peak, 76, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away on January 8th, 2024, after an illness.
Michael was born on October 11th, 1947, to Kenneth and Dorothy Peak in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Michael served in the United States Army in the 190th Assault Helicopter Company in Vietnam from 1967- 1969. After his military service, he began his career at The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, California
In 1967, Michael met Yolanda Herrera at Norte Vista High School in Riverside, California. Michael and Yolanda were married in 1969 and went on to have two sons, Michael and Richard Peak. In 1997, Michael was paralyzed in an automobile accident. After his accident he enjoyed spending time with his family in North Idaho, studying the Bible, and pursuing excellence in nature photography.
Michael was preceded in death by his sister Susan Goad, and his mother and father, Dorothy and Kenneth Peak. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Peak, and his two sons: Michael Peak of Post Falls, Idaho, and Richard Peak of Greeley, Colorado. A sister Judy Learned of Texas, two brothers Thomas Peak and Steve Peak both of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Ashley Cox, Michael Peak, Ridge Peak and Jovie Peak, and three grandchildren: Madeline Peak, Sophia Peak and Mari Cox.
He will be remembered for his love of the Lord and of his family.
