Michael Pratt

Michael D. ‘Mike’ Pratt, 75

April 12, 1941 — Feb. 12, 2017

Mike was born and raised in Spokane, Wash. He graduated from North Central High School. He served in the Coast Guard and reserves. He met Mary Dean and they married on Aug. 5, 1961. They resided in Washington until they purchased 10 acres near Rathdrum, Idaho. They raised four children.

Mike retired from Kaiser Aluminum Trentwood Plant where he worked for 27 years. They sold their 10 acres and purchased 40 acres in the Athol area. Mike enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and traveling in the RV. He had a circle of lifelong friends whom he loved dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Pratt and his four children, Duane (Bonnie) Pratt, Carrie (John) McCrite, Doug (Mari) Pratt and Chris (Kim) Pratt; his grandchildren, Sean (Brittany) McCrite, Kyle (Amber) McCrite, Dennis (Mariah) Atherton, Jillian Pratt, Nick Pratt, Becca Pratt, Jacob Pratt and Michael Pratt; and great-grandchildren Connor McCrite, Kamden Atherton and Emma McCrite. He is also survived by his eldest brother, Don Pratt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald S. and Mary T. Pratt; and his brother, Bob Pratt. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Time will heal those of us left behind, but God has already healed our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rathdrum.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mike’s name to the Kootenai Humane Society.
