Mike W. Green, age 71, passed away at Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, ID, on December 27, 2016. He passed away from complications of a rare brain disease Cortical Basal Degeneration.

Mike was born in Pasadena, CA, on June 26, 1945, to Wayne and Phyliss (Edwards) Green. Mike’s father was in the Air Force so the family resided in several states. As a teenager the family lived at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Mountain Home, ID. He moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID, where he met and married Janina Kowalski on November 19, 1977, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Son Patrick was born in 1978, and after residing in Coeur d’Alene for 5 years he was transferred to Medford, OR, where daughter Laura was born in 1980. He was then transferred to Portland, OR and then to Vancouver, WA, where they resided for 18 years. In 1999, they returned to Coeur d’Alene to the family farm where they cared for Janina’s mother. In February of 2012, they moved into the town of Coeur d’Alene, ID.

Mike worked in the banking industry for many years. He retired from Alert Automotive in 2016. Shortly after his retirement he was diagnosed with CBD.

He enjoyed model trains, farming, the outdoors, camping and fishing.

Mike is survived by his wife Janina of Coeur d’Alene, ID; 2 children: son Patrick Green and husband Tony Gray of Coeur d’Alene, ID and daughter Laura and husband Ryan Tanner of Vancouver, WA; 2 grandchildren Ashley and Bradley Tanner of Vancouver, WA; brother Terry Green of Denver, CO.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents.
