Miles Haynie

Miles Landon Haynie, at the tender age of five, unexpectedly returned to the loving arms of his Father in Heaven Friday morning, July 22, 2016. Although this comes as a shock to all, those who knew Miles would agree that the transition from this life to the next must have been an easy one for him as he was already a perfect, precious angel.

Born on December 19, 2010 in Indianapolis, he spent the first few years of his life making memories and lifelong bonds with neighbors and friends. He then moved with his family to Coeur d’Alene in 2013 to begin his next chapter of life. Miles showed his love for life by the pure joy he had riding his Spider-Man bike, wearing his Mario costume everywhere, swimming, playing Tee-ball, and proudly requesting his favorite “Root Beerd” every time he went to a restaurant. He loved spending time with family and friends, learning and making crafts at pre-school, giving out all his candy at Halloween to trick-or-treaters, and cuddling his baby brother Lincoln. He rarely could be found wearing anything but the color red as that was obviously his favorite color. Miles was blunt about not liking his cute, blonde curly hair, but if you asked anyone what the most defining trait Miles had, the unanimous answer would for sure be his infectious smile. His smile could penetrate any heart and could bring joy to any situation.

Miles loved many things, but what he loved most of all was his best friend and twin, Jaxon. Miles and Jaxon shared a special relationship that all those around them could only admire. Where others struggled to understand Jaxon’s language, Miles was always there to translate. When Miles struggled to master a new sport or activity, Jaxon was always there to offer encouragement. They praised each other's projects from preschool and looked forward to starting Kindergarten together. They rarely spent time apart, and went to bed everynight telling each other stories and laughing until Elliot yelled for them to “Be quiet and go to sleep!” Jaxon was there for Miles when entered this world, and also when he peacefully returned to the loving arms of our Father in Heaven. It will now be up to us to understand Jaxon’s language, but we know Miles will be there for Jaxon as he continues through his earthly mission, encouraging his best friend to also make it safely Home.

Miles lived a great life surrounded by those he loved and who loved him. He spent his final days doing everything he loved: playing at the park, swimming at the beach, and for sure, completing the Muddy Miles. He will leave a life-long impression on everyone. Miles is survived by his parents Dr. J.R. and Chelsea Haynie, his older brother Elliot, his best friend and twin Jaxon, his younger brother Lincoln, his Grandma Davis, his Oma and Opa Haynie, and countless uncles, aunts, and cousins. Miles was preceded in death and we know back in the loving arms of his Grandpa Ted Davis and his twin older brother and sister Landon and Lydia Haynie.

A viewing will be held for Miles from 10:30 - 11:30 am on Friday, July 29 at the LDS church located at 2293 West Hanley Ave. in Coeur d’Alene, with the funeral service immediately following. Miles will then be laid to rest in the Riverview cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
