Myrtle Charlotte Roscelli, a long-time resident of the Monterey Peninsula, California, passed away Wednesday the 30th of November in Hayden, Idaho at Hospice House. Born in 1921 in California Hot Springs, Myrtle married the love of her life George Roscelli in 1937. They were loyal parishioners of San Carlos Church and a big part of the Monterey community. She was a 60 plus year member of the Catholic Daughters and the ICF. During World War II while George was deployed she worked in the canneries along Cannery Row. Together Myrtle and George went on to have 9 children and their home was always full of family and friends. She lived the last 13 years in Coeur d’Alene, ID and belonged to St. Pius Church and was loved by the many friends she made. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband George, her daughter Carol and her son John. She leaves behind 7 children Sandra (Mike) Smith, Michael (Carol) Roscelli, Susan Kryger, Georgette (Alessandro) Chiappe, Mary Roscelli, daughter -in-law Joyce Roscelli, Theresa (Glen) Plowman and Cathleen (William) Pryor. Myrtle had 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be said at St. Pius X Church in Coeur d’Alene on December 9th at 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow at a later date in Monterey, California.
