Neil James Huston

Neil James Huston, 51, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho — On May 4, 2022, Neil James Huston was ushered through the gates of heaven as his family lovingly surrounded and sang hymns to him.
Neil’s wit, intellect and humor were evident from the start and throughout his life. He was known for helping others and giving generously without expecting anything in return.  Dependable and helpful at every turn, even for a great prank and joke. Neil took his faith in Christ and understanding of life seriously and shared it with others daily. His immense knowledge of various subjects kept conversations going while playing the many board games he enjoyed during game nights with family and friends. Making good memories was important to Neil—and he did just that! May the Force be with you, Neil!
Neil was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Neil and Jean Huston. He grew up in Florida, where he fell in love with Jesus, Legos, science fiction and all things computer. He endlessly helped others at First Christian Church in Clearwater, FL where he worked sound, helped wire new sound systems, worked in the office and assisted wherever he could. He graduated from Largo Senior High School, then attended St. Petersburg College and Milligan College. While at Milligan, he enjoyed spelunking, hiking and college life in the famed Pardee Hall. In 2005 he followed his family north and migrated to the Inland Northwest where he met the love of his life, Lisa. In 2018, Neil married his love in Spokane, WA. They settled in Coeur d'Alene, ID and enjoyed time together travelling, watching movies and going to church. Neil enjoyed his career in the IT industry where he had worked for over 20 years.
Neil was preceded in death by his grandparents, the Blaguszewskis and the Hustons, and his father, Neil S. Huston. He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Huston); her daughters, Megan and Amanda Martin; granddaughter, Avery Bentz; mother, Jean Huston; sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Kimmer Callahan; and nieces and nephews, William, Kathleen, Grace and Jonathan Callahan.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Union Gospel Mission,Spokane, Wa.
