Noah F. Stroup
W7CXL has gone silent key.
Noah F. Stroup of Rathdrum, ID left this physical plane of existence on May 15th, 2017.
Noah was born in Kirksville, MO on Dec. 15, 1932 to M. Joseph and Peggy Dunn Stroup.
He was preceded by his life partner Anita M. (Johnson) Stroup, their son Ronald David (Ronnie) Stroup, his parents, and brothers Richard and Ernie.
He leaves behind son Martin (Marcia), daughters Loretta, and Jenny. Three grandchildren: Matthew Stroup, Crystal Larson and Anthony Grant,. As well as great-grandchildren, Jade Grant, Elizabeth and William Larson. His sister Joan (Salem, OR).
He started work as a young boy in Butte, MT to help support his family. After marriage he put his hand to any work in order to support his wife and children. He was a hard rock miner, then later entered custom cabinetry where he attained artisan level. His hobbies included fishing, race car driving in his younger years, and HAM radio.
Noah was a Korea Era Veteran where his start in radio communications started. After discharge he attained his HAM license W7CXL.
While in service his unit was used in the filming of “To Hell and Back.”
Noah’s family would like to give a special thanks to his Home Based Primary Care Team-VA and the staff of Hospice House of North Idaho for their kindness and compassion during his final days.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to Hospice of North Idaho.
