Pearl M. Holovka passed away in her sleep November 14th at her home in Post Falls at the age of 96.
She was Born in Roscoe, SD, the daughter of Adolph and Martha Stuckel. She married and moved to the Coeur d'Alene area where she raised her 6 children. She was an excellent homemaker, cook, and baker and will always be known for her wonderful cinnamon rolls. When her children were older, she worked in the fabric department at JC Penney for several years. She was an expert seamstress and handmade many Easter dresses and beautiful prom gowns for her daughters. In 1975, she married Mickey Holovka and moved to California where they managed apartment complexes together.
Pearl loved to dance, and she loved to garden. Her yard and Vegetable gardens were like something out of a magazine... absolutely gorgeous, like her. Most of all she loved her home and her family. She lived a long, full life, leaving her beautiful mark on many who loved her and will miss her always.
She leaves behind her brothers Earl and Ralph Stuckel and sister Bernice Dewald, 3 sons; Tim Schmidt (Cami), Dick Schmidt (Janan), and Greg Schmidt, 3 daughters; Jackie Rachunok (Dennis), Cheryl Sieveke and Vickie Steven, step daughters; Donnalyn Watson, Jackie Holovka and Carolyn Schultz, grandchildren; Andy Schmidt, Jeremy Schmidt, Meaghan Rachunok, Doc Nicolson, Reggie Sieveke, Cody Steven, Shawn Steven, Kayla Steven, Derrick, Danielle and Same, and great grandchildren; Avery, Alex, and Bo. She was preceded in death by her husband Mickey and great granddaughter Caitlyn.
