Pedro Cruz Rodriguez went to his temporary rest on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006. He was born June 4, 1931, in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico.
The youngest of 13 children, he was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers.
After his marriage to Nydia Fernandez in 1951, they moved from Puerto Rico to New York City. After a few years and two children later, they moved to Los Angeles, where Pedro found his career of choice, "Car Sales." They were blessed with four more children to complete the Cruz-Rodriguez family. In 1981 Pedro and Nydia moved to Coeur d'Alene.
Known as Brother Pedro by some, and "Pedro, the man with the plan" to many others, but most loved as Pop.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, Nydia of Coeur d'Alene; and his greatest blessings, his six children, Peter Rodriguez, Daniel and Adriana Rodriguez and Kaeyrie and Robin Rodriguez of California, Enoch Rodriguez, Ben and Ruthie Rodriguez, and Yridia and David Koontz of Idaho.
The pride of his life, his fifteen grandchildren, are Dawn Dannenbrink, Joy, Destiny, Michelle, Tawny, Adrian, Justine, Jamin, Reuben, Kara, Angelica, Christopher and Ian Rodriguez, David and Daniel Koontz; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Kohl. And, as he would say, "like one of my own," Sandy and Sasha Carlson.
Most noted for his infectious laughter and huge heart. If the measure of a man is the size of his heart, you couldn't find a tape long enough to measure his.
A lifetime Seventh Day Adventist who was very passionate about keeping the Sabbath and couldn't help but share with all those he met the message of the second coming of Jesus his Lord. He now rests in peace waiting for what will seem like the twinkling of an eye, when he will be awakened by his Savior Jesus Christ at the second coming.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the 3ABN Ministry through the Cd'A Seventh Day Adventist Church. Pedro's most favorite ministry among many.
