Raymond Hunter

Raymond (Skip) Hunter passed peacefully after his hard fought 14 month battle with cancer surrounded by family and friends on June 5th. He was born October 12, 1944 in Eureka, CA. He grew up on his family's dairy farm in Northern California and remained there until after high school graduation when he joined the U.S. Navy in 1962 and was sent to Vietnam. He married Carol McClintock of Richmond, CA on July 4th, 1964. After his Honorable Discharge in 1966 he and his wife moved to Northern Idaho where he remained excepts for brief residences in Spokane, WA and Coos Bay, OR until his passing.

Skip was employed as a Brick Mason at Kaiser Aluminum for over 31 years.

He and Carol raised two sons, David wife Jennifer, Bobby wife Marie, as well as one daughter, Tracie husband Rob.

Skip was a former member of the Post Falls Volunteer Fire Dept for over 14 years. He was also an active member of the V.F.W and American Legion. He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Post Falls. Skip loved to hunt, fish, bowl, golf, and most of all spend time with his kids and grandkids anytime he was able. He was know as "Pops" "Dad" or "Skipper" to more people than anyone could count. He had an infectious smile and kind word for everyone he would meet.

He is survived by Carol his wife of almost 53 years. 3 Children, David, Bobby, and Tracie. Grandchildren Breanna Tucker husband Keith, Mischelle, Blake, Aleczander, Kourtenai. and Kassawndra, as well as one great grandchild Declan.

He was preceeded in death by his parents Virginia and Howard, as well as 1 brother Don (Buster). There will be a

Viewing on June 12th from 10am-7pm at English Funeral Home in Post Falls. A celebration of life with a "Please bring a side dish" potluck after the service will held on Thursday, June 15th at 6pm at Calvary Lutheran Church in Post Falls.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests all donations to be made either the American Cancer Society or North Idaho Hospice Care. The family thanks you all for all your thoughts, prayers and well-wishes. God Bless.
