Richard Hugh Beattie

Richard Hugh Beattie (Rich) of Spokane Valley, WA. Passed away on March 20, 2025. Richard was born on December 15, 1937, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Richard attended Post Falls High School and then went to work on the Great Northern Railroad in Idaho. He later worked for the Spokane International Railroad and the Union Pacific Railroad. He worked for 43 years for the 3 different railroads.

His first love was the cars he repaired and restored. He was accomplished in repairing and restoring vehicles.

His other love was his family and friends. He was very proud of everyone in his family.

Rich personally built the home he lived in and shared with his wife Alice of 70 years.

Rich is survived by wife Alice, sons Gordon (Elise), Victor (LaDawn), Mark (Cindy), all in the Spokane Valley. Grandchildren Mark Lee (Ashley) N.C. Landon (Laura) Spokane Valley, Nick (Holly) Ferndale, Krista (Joel) Bullard CdA. Nine Great Grandchildren and treasured nieces and valued friends.

Rich always loved a good joke. He always left you with a good joke and a good laugh.

A Funeral Service for Rich will be held Wednesday March 26 at 1 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel 1700 N Spokane St. Post Falls ID.
