Sally Ann Murphy, 83, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away to be with our Lord on Sept. 13, 2016. Born on Aug. 23, 1933, in Denver, Colo., she was the only child of Ira Courtney Thompson and Elizabeth Starling Adams. She lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, for 33 years before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1988.
A descendant of one of the original 102 passengers of the Mayflower, Sally took pride in her heritage. She was a voracious reader and a history buff who loved travel and adventure. A spirited and classy woman, Sally greeted people with a warm smile, an outgoing personality and a vibrant wit.
Sally was joyful and kind in her service to others, and was quick to lend a hand wherever she could. She worked as a surgical technician in the hospital for many years, and volunteered as a greeter at Real Life Ministries in her retirement.
Sally was loved by many; she loved being surrounded by her friends and family. She enjoyed family barbecues, reading the newspaper, sipping her coffee in the sunshine, river running and her dogs and horses. She enjoyed food, but LOVED ice cream and chocolate.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce Clark and James Clark; daughters Shauna Clark and Courtney Tritten; grandchildren Quincy Clark, Robert Shannon, Skyler Shannon, Tessa Shannon, Brandie Jones, Cody Jones, Ryley Clark, Calley Clark, Harrington Clark and Ronan Clark; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Real Life Ministries, Coeur d’Alene Campus, 610 N. Fourth St., followed by a celebration of life potluck event at noon at Shadduck Park, 1875 E. Shadduck Lane, Coeur d’Alene. Everyone is welcome.
